                                        Welcome to BenAlderman.com!

I've been a fishing fanatic all my life. For more than 20 years, my passion has been the pursuit of red drum, speckled trout, tarpon, and a variety of other species in the estuaries that surround Charleston, South Carolina. Hard-pulling redfish have always been my favorite and my specialty. As a professional angler  on ESPN's Redfish Cup, I've fished extensively from Texas to North Carolina, honing my skills and broadening my understanding of this great gamefish. Whether you're a seasoned angler, a novice with a desire to learn, or a family in search of active entertainment, I'll tailor your trip to meet your needs and expectations.

                                                               Fly Fishermen Welcome!

I started seriously fly fishing for reds while working at Luden's Orvis Shop in 1992. I enjoyed spending all day tying flies, teaching casting lessons, and interacting with customers. I had several original flies published in magazines in the 90's and even did a little commercial tying, but now I just tie flies for charters and personal pleasure. Casting lessons are available if you'd like to brush up before you're staring down a fish. All experience levels welcome! Don't be shy if you're new to saltwater fly fishing. I'll patiently help you achieve your goals without adding stress to your experience.
